Northwest passage





1. If the maps around you showed the existence of the Northwest Passage, would you believe it? Why?


Maybe I will believe it if the map showed the existence of the Northwest Passage. Though people are unlikely to get to China though America travel by the surface of the Earth either land or water, they can, instead, achieve it by passing though air, nothing can stop it.



2. If you were John Cabot and someone told you the Northwest Passage didn't exist. What would you say? What would you feel? How would you react?

If I am John Cabot I will angry if someone told me that the Northwest Passage didn't exist. I will also feel preposterous to the idea and taunt that person who told me this stuff. I won't change my goal.


3. Find a map by Humphrey Gilbert from 1582. What do you see in the picture? Explain.

Humphrey Gilbert is a English explorer. He believe Northwest passage is exist. He drew it on to the map.



4. Why did the Northwest Passage suit the goals (agenda) of the Eurpean explorers and monarchs?

The explorers want to find a short way to China. The monarchs want to get money from Asia. If the explorers find Northwest Passage they would become famase.

5. Feedback loops help us to see reality as a system. Can you think of an example of a feedback loop from your own life? Look at page 225 of your textbook to help you.

ex: people die because of disease, disease increase because of there are many died body.



6. What did you learn so far about explorers and the colonization of Canada?

I have learned that Canada had once colonizd by Europe. learned the history of some explorers. Jacques Cartier give me deep impression. He was a French explorer who traveled to Canada three times. He took the chief to France in his second voyage.
