1. What have you learned since September in Canadian Studies? (Or since you started to take the class)

I learned some histoiry of exploration of Canada. I learned a few explorer's story. I learned fur trade. I learned the colonization of Canada. I learned that Viking pirate are the frist European arrived America. I learned some vocabulary. I learned how to make a ship.
2. What is the most memorable lesson you remember? (if you weren't here, maybe at another school)

The memorable lesson I remember is the viking ship making classes. I remember it clearly because I can still feel how times wasted during that time. Whole class did nothing but making ships. It could not help me inprove my English anymore. It was not interesting. I lost my time during the lessen so it become the most memorable lessen to me.
3. Think about your life as a student here since September. Have you changed? How?

I did not changed since September, I think. I did chaned nothing. My life as a student here is boring. Nothing special. I did not really lived since September. I just lived oneday and repeat it many times. I did not changed since I am here. I did not changed.
4. What is your goal for yourself by June? What is your plan to study?

I have no goal for myself by June. I have no plan to study. I have never had a plan for study. I usually have no plan. I always do thiings without plan. I usually have no goal. I don't like plans. I don't like goals.
5. What are you most proud of in school since September? Have you done your best?

I have not done my best because I have nothing to be proud of myself in school. I have nothing to be proud of myself because I have not done my best and I have not done my best because I have nothing to be proud of myself in school. I have nothing to be proud of myself in school since September because I have not done my best which is the result of I have nothing to be proud of myself in school since September. I have not done my best becuase I have nothing to be proud of myself in school since September which is the reason of I have not done my best.

Exploration can create conflict and misunderstanding

___Exploration does create conflict and misunderstanding and even wars. Actually, many wars were caused by explorations. From ancient times to theasday, explorations created lots of conflict and wars. One typical example is the Anabasis of Alexander which was a violent invasion to the Eastren.
___Alexander the great was one of the most successful king of Macedon. Macedon was a small city-state of ancient Greeks, seems it would never be notable until the war made by Alexander. he conquered Persia Egypt but failed at India. Alexander was the son of Philip 2 and ascended to the Macedonian throne when his father been killed. He began his conquer in the spring of 334 BC. The first country he invated is Persia, a large contry in Middle East ruled by Darius 3. Persian army had a great advntage ofthe total number of soidrer, thirty thousand men. Alexander and his army defeated the enemy and, according to tradition, lost only 110 men. Darius 3 fled and abandoning his mother, wife, and children. He also promised that he would like to gige half of his country to Alexander if he stop the war but Alexander refused this idea for he wanted whole Persia.
___Alexander also
conquered Syria , Phoenicia and many countries include Egypt where the priest of the temple told him that he was a son of Zeus Ammon. Alexander continued his pursuit of Darius while when he finally caught up to him, he was killed by his satra. Alexander gave Darius a royal funeral even he was Alexander's enemy. Then, Alexander killed the satra and became the king of Persia at last.
___Alexander was failed in the war of India because this country used elephant during the war and Alexander had never seen this kind of animal before. He returnd to his hometown and died in
the spring of 324.
____Alexander's invasion was a great exploration of Eatern countries. Though it was a diaster to the Eastern people and its violent made lots of damage, it stimulated the comunication between Greek and Middle East.

Northwest passage

1. If the maps around you showed the existence of the Northwest Passage, would you believe it? Why?

Maybe I will believe it if the map showed the existence of the Northwest Passage. Though people are unlikely to get to China though America travel by the surface of the Earth either land or water, they can, instead, achieve it by passing though air, nothing can stop it.

2. If you were John Cabot and someone told you the Northwest Passage didn't exist. What would you say? What would you feel? How would you react?

If I am John Cabot I will angry if someone told me that the Northwest Passage didn't exist. I will also feel preposterous to the idea and taunt that person who told me this stuff. I won't change my goal.

3. Find a map by Humphrey Gilbert from 1582. What do you see in the picture? Explain.

Humphrey Gilbert is a English explorer. He believe Northwest passage is exist. He drew it on to the map.

4. Why did the Northwest Passage suit the goals (agenda) of the Eurpean explorers and monarchs?

The explorers want to find a short way to China. The monarchs want to get money from Asia. If the explorers find Northwest Passage they would become famase.

5. Feedback loops help us to see reality as a system. Can you think of an example of a feedback loop from your own life? Look at page 225 of your textbook to help you.

ex: people die because of disease, disease increase because of there are many died body.

6. What did you learn so far about explorers and the colonization of Canada?

I have learned that Canada had once colonizd by Europe. learned the history of some explorers. Jacques Cartier give me deep impression. He was a French explorer who traveled to Canada three times. He took the chief to France in his second voyage.

Fale of Earth and Universe

I the there are still some mistake of the universe today. I don't agree that universe has edges. In my thought, universe is space.

Reason to suppot that Earth is flat

1. It was assumed that, if ether existed, the light pulse would fall back in one direction, giving the physicists a tangible "absolute" speed of the earth. Their calculated speed: Zero

2. With all this turbulence and motion, if the world were round, the oceans should all fall "down" into the sky, leaving the planet dry and barren, and the atmosphere would simply float away. Why, just look at the moon.

3. there are rivers that flow for hundreds of miles towards the level of the sea without falling more than a few feet — notably, the Nile , which, in a thousand miles, falls but a foot. A level expanse of this extent is quite incompatible with the idea of the Earth's 'convexity'"; and that an aeronaut at the highest possible altitude will see what appears to be a concave surface "this being exactly what is to be expected of a surface that is truly level, since it is the nature of level surfaces to appear to rise to a level with the eye of the observer".

4. If it is a sphere, the surface of a large body of water must be curved. The Johnsons have checked the surfaces of Lake Tahoe and the Salton Sea (a shallow salt lake in southern California near the Mexican border) without detecting any curvature."

5. The planetary bodies above the Earth revolve above it, thereby causing sunrise and sunset to occur .

Flat Earth Picture

These two picture are 'flat Earth' revealing. eventhough the picture of the Earth have be taken by state in space and the evidence have improve that th Earth is a ball, some peaple still insist on the old theory saying that the world we live is flat. The first picture is a model of flat Earth, different from ball shape Earth modle, this one is as flat as a dish. it seems to be placed in a transparent ball shape box. For the theme of this picture is that the Earth is flat, it give people a unuaual feeling especially when they saw all continent crowed togather, at least looks like crowed togather. This picture which showing a sail boat go near the edge od the flat Eath is extraordinary beautiful. Light of moon penetrait the dusky cloud full of sky and spread on to surface of the sea water. At the edge of the Earth, warter fall of as a huge waterfall. a lonely sail boat looks very small in this situation.

Puppy show

The puppy show made by our group is about the second voyage of Cartier to Canada. At this time, Cartier decided to take Donacona, the chief of native people, to France that he could show the riches and valueble to the French king. This is a pity that Donacona never came back to his hometown. However, the puppy isn't showing any sad motion to audience. This is the disadvantage of the show. The main charactors are Cartier, the chief, the chief's son and viligers. I was the voicer of Cartier. I learned nothing from making this show, I think it just wast of times. My group worked well together. Our group was as same as the ship's group. We worked well of the viking ship and we know each other well.

Exploration is important to a counyry

____Humans need exploration. Exploration also needs humans. Curious, the special feature of hymning, push people to explore and then the result of one exploration usually suspense another one. Countries require exploration eagerly for the discoveries, either on new land, resources and trading, could bringing them great wealth and authority.
Exploring new land or continent is important to a country especially in olden times. The discovery of America Continent is a suitable example. Though it had been independent and grew into several large coutries, it had been colony of European countries and brings them great benefit. The first European people arrived there, despite of Vikings, is Columbus and his men. Columbus, the Spanish navigator who blame fames of his discovery of America, sail out to find a way to legendary Asia and regarded the continent he found as Asia all his life. Even though the land is not Asia, and there is no diamond or gold full of ground, the discovery still give Europe great treasure and began a colony for a long time until American countries separated from Europe.
____Newland means new world where has numerous recourses .When Cabot first arrived Canada, he was surprised by the cod which they must never seen in Europe. He noticed immediately that it's a valuable food resource and also the importance of American continent. Cartier, a voyage man and explorer, sail to Canada for tree times and set up the colony to Canada. During his first voyage, he had a conflict between the native people and kidnaps the chief's two son. At last the chief agree that his son would be taken to France under the promise of sending back them with lots of European goods. Cartier did send back them on his seconds voyage to Canada. He had already got many things from Canada while he was not satisfied with that. He wanted to show the valuable and magic of Canada to the French king so he takes the chief who could tell how rich Canada was to the king by heself. It really did, bring rich resources to them.
___Trading is an important part of exploration. Exploration can give trading more kinds of goods and, in the other hand, trading stimulate the exploration of new product. There was a time when fur trading was every prevail between Canada and European. Fur resource in clued many species of animal and the fur from beavers occupied important number of them. Beaver hat was popular in that period. The requirement made many kinds of beaver hat. Each kind has its own feature and adventure. The fur trading is on the base of exploration.
___Exploration is important to a country; it can bring wealth to it. Exploration is every where either in past or today. it involve science, geography, history and nature. Every thing can be explored. Every project or object has the requirement of being discoverd even if it seems to be simple and usual.
